I
remember my parents buying their first home in 1965 for $19,000. That was a
HUGE amount of money back then. I'll always remember that first house with
three bedrooms and one bathroom that five of us had to share. Ahhh... good
times! ;-)
Many years later my parents were able buy some land and build their dream home,
a four bedroom, three bathroom, two-story house with an attached two-car
garage! I remember watching that house get built, walking into all the rooms
before they had walls. It was amazing to see a house "grow" from the
foundation up!
When I moved to California from New Jersey in 1978 to go to college, I was so
happy to rent my first apartment. I finally had my own home! Over the years, I
rented many places but never really felt settled until I bought my first condo
in 1990. I could finally hang pictures on the walls without fear of damaging
anything and having to lose my security deposit! I could paint the walls
whatever color I liked. I could install whatever carpeting I wanted. I really
understood at that point "the joys of home ownership"!
In 2002 my husband, Ernie Sheesley, and I decided to take the plunge, and we
purchased our first investment house. I obtained my real estate license in 2006
to offer more services to the people we were helping as investors. As soon as I
was licensed, I began working with first-time buyers and helping them find
their dream homes. I also started helping people do short sales of their homes
at the beginning of the real estate market's decline in early 2007. I became so
proficient in doing short sales, I started teaching other Realtors how to do
them.
Because I am committed to continually improving my skills and education to
provide the highest level of service to my clients, I’ve obtained the following
accreditations:
(1) Certified Distressed Property
Expert (CDPE) - This means I can help you if you're having
trouble paying your mortgage by giving you all of your options. And if you need
to do a short sale and sell your house, I am there for you 100% throughout the
process.
(2) Accredited Buyer's
Representative (ABR) - This is an official designation
acknowledging my ability to help buyers in a very challenging market. To do
that, I also obtained the…
(3) BPOR designation –
BPO stands for "Broker's Price Opinion" and having this designation
means that I am able to determine property values as closely as possible to
what an appraiser will determine. This is immensely valuable in helping sellers
price their properties to sell and in helping buyers to make an appropriate
offer on a property.
(4) Certified Staging Agent (CSA),
aka a "Stagent" –
This means I’m qualified to help you arrange (or re-arrange!) your
furniture and the items in your home to sell your house as fast as possible for
the highest price possible.
(5) Certified Probate Real Estate
Specialist (CPRES) - If you or someone you know has recently
lost a loved one, you know how overwhelming it is to be the executor of an
estate. I can help in this situation. It's important to have a Realtor who
understands the challenges and demands of selling a Probate property, even if
the property was held in a Trust. I have the knowledge and resources available
to help sell an inherited property so the heirs can get on with their lives. Please
feel free to refer your friends or loved ones to me for help.
(6) Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) - This means I've been educated in the best way to serve seniors who are retiring and selling their family home. I can also help the adult children of aging parents who need to sell a house because their parents have passed away or need to go into an assisted living facility. There is a lot to deal with both physically and emotionally when selling a family home, and I am well trained in how to help everyone involved in this type of transaction.
Through the years, I have helped many people find
and buy their dream homes as well as sell their homes in a very challenging
market. My goal as your Realtor is to take away all the stress of buying or
selling a home. I handle the massive amount of paperwork involved and negotiate
the best terms for everyone concerned. If you need to do a short sale, I also
deal with your bank. Please take a look at the Testimonials from many of my lovely clients if you want to understand what I can do for you!
An added benefit of working with me is my team member, my husband Ernie Sheesley. He has joined me in serving our wonderful clients. With Ernie's extensive experience as an investor and marketer, he is a great asset to our business!
